The Eye Foundation has installed Intra Ocular Lens(IOL) Master to take measurements on the eye without contacting the cornea for cataract surgery. It has also introduced Laser DCR Technique to do bloodless surgery for those with the problem of watering of eyes.Talking to journalists, Dr D Ramamurthy, Managing Director of the hospital,said the IOL Master is an advanced biometry device for measurements on the eye required for the pre-operative computation of lens power. “The axial length of the eyeball, curvature of the cornea, depth of anterior chamber are required to calculate the IOL power, which can be done perfectly with the new equipment.
