A road safety awareness programme will be inaugurated and a mobile propaganda vehicle on road safety will be flagged off at the Road Safety week celebrations organised at the Lakshmi Mills Junction on Tuesday. A release from the City Police said that the road safety week celebrations primarily aim at creating awareness among the road users on the safe driving/riding habits The celebrations would be inaugurated by the Collector, Neeraj Mittal, City Police Commissioner, C.K. Gandhirajan and Corporation Commissioner, P. Muthuveeran besides officials from the Education and Transport Department.The programme would include distribution of handbills, pamphlets to drivers, affixing of stickers with messages on averting road accidents. Mr.Gandhirajan would also inaugurate a refurbished and renovated traffic umbrella to provide better working atmosphere and condition for the traffic constables.
