In view of the pronouncement of sentences in the serial blasts case by the Special Court on Wednesday, the city police have announced certain diversions in traffic to be enforced from 8 a.m. around VOC Park.LIC Road connecting Avanashi Road with Dr.Nanjappa Road will be closed for traffic.Buses coming from Tiruchi and Palladam will have to proceed via Huzur Road round-about, Anna Statue, Dr.Balasundaram Road, Women’s Polytechnic and reach Gandhipuram bus stand. Buses from Salem and Erode will have to take Dr.Balasundaram Road and Women’s Polytechnic to reach Gandhipuram bus stand.Vehicles from Gandhipuram on Dr.Nanjappa Road will have to avoid entering LIC Road.Instead, they should proceed straight and join Avanashi Road near J.M. Bakery.The same pattern of traffic will hold good for vehicles bound for Gandhipuram bus stand from Town Hall and LIC Junction.
