Weigh LPG before delivery -BPCL

A ‘Salter Scale’ being used to demonstrate how cylinders could be weighed. This was part of World Standards Day held recently at BPCL bottling plant at Peelamedu.The Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) marketing its liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) under the brand name ‘Bharatgas’ has exhorted its customers to ensure that delivery personnel weighed the cylinders at their doorsteps using a ‘Salter Scale’ before taking delivery. The sensitisation programme was conducted during the World Standards Day celebrations held recently at the BPCL bottling plant at Peelamedu. It was part of the Quality and Quantity month (Q&Q) being observed by the BPCL. P. Radhakrishna, Scientist F and Head of the Bureau of Indian Standards, S. Thangavel, Territory Manager and Pradeep Nair, Territory Coordinator of BPCL, took part.“Bharat Petroleum Corporation wanted to ensure right quantity and quality. Delivery boys would do the pre-delivery inspection of the cylinders to ensure that no defective cylinders are delivered to the customer,” they said.
