The Tamil Nadu Association for Cottage and Micro Enterprises has deplored the frequent power cuts the industries in the region faced for the last one week. A release from the association said that the industries faced four to six hours of power cut a day. The unannounced power cuts in this industrialised region had hit the cottage and micro industries leading to even unemployment in some units.It appealed to the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board to ensure continuous power supply to the units. The association said the micro and cottage industry entrepreneurs would stage a protest in front of the board’s office here if the unannounced power cuts continued.
