Police detained a two-wheeler for misusing the ‘Press’ sticker during a vehicle check in the city on Saturday.The Coimbatore City Police have warned against misuse of ‘Press’ plate\sticker in vehicles and fined a person for such an offence.According to a police release, the Deputy Commissioner of Traffic, Manoharan, was supervising the vehicle check at the Avanashi Road-Vilankurichi Road junction on Saturday. He then noticed a two-wheeler with “Press” mentioned on the number plate. However, enquiry revealed that the motorist had nothing to with the media. Hence he was fined. In case of vehicles misusing the ’Press’ sticker, they would be impounded hereafter, the Deputy Commissioner has warned.
