Scheme for Self employment for women
A scheme to provide “Self Employment and Entrepreneurship Development” for farm women and tribals will be implemented by imparting training in production of vermicompost and mycorrhizal bio-fertilizers at the Forest College and Research Institute, Mettupalayam.According to a release from M. Govinda Rao, Dean, the institute of the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University will operate the scheme from 2007 to 2010. The Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, has sanctioned Rs. 19.84 lakh for the same.
