Traffic diversion
In view of the kumbabishegam at Koniammal Temple on Sunday, traffic diversions will be in force, according to city police:Trucks from Avanashi Road bound for Palakkad Road and Pollachi Road would have to take the Anna Statue, Hosur Road, K.G. Theatre, Government Arts College, Classic Towers Road, Valankulam Railway over bridge and reach Ukkadam.Trucks bound for Mettuppalayam Road and Thadagam would have to take the Avanashi Road flyover, Brooke Bond Road and go through Chintamani Junction.Trucks from Mettuppalayam Road bound for Palakkad Road would have to take the Avanashi Road old flyover, Goods Shed Road, Lanka Corner Junction, Tiruchi Road, Classic Tower Road and then reach the Ukkadam – Valankulam Railway over bridge to reach Ukkadam.Trucks from Tiruchi Road bound for Palakkad and Pollachi roads would have to take the Sungam Bypass road and go through Valankulam Rail over bridge and vehicles for other places could use the normal route.Vehicles from Thadagam Road and Perur Roads could ply on the same route. Vehicles on Raja Street, Oppanakkara Street should go through the same route and reach Variety Hall Road or Idayar Street or Sukrawarpet Road to proceed further.Vehicles from Raja Street, Oppanakkara Street, from Lala Corner and from NH Road and Five Corner Junction would be diverted via NH Road and Town Hall.
