The members of Tamizhaga Vivasayigal Sangham will stage a hunger strike at Gandhipuram on Tuesday in protest against the decision of the Tamil Nadu Housing Board (TNHB) to revive its acquisition plans.Vazhukkuparai Balasubramanian, district president and P. Kandasamy, district secretary of the Sangham in a release pointed out that after identifying lands and serving notices for acquisition, the TNHB had slept over the proposal for over two decades.After the lands were sold and constructions were made on such lands, the TNHB had now chosen to claim ownership over approved layouts, they added.
