Tamil Nadu Retired Government Employees Association has proposed to organise a dharna at Gandhipuram here at 4 p.m. on February 26 pressing for a charter of demands, including enhancement of monthly medical allowance to Rs.500 besides enhancement of medical reimbursement to Rs.1 lakh for the pensioner as well as his wife. They also demanded that the commutation period should be reduced to 12 years. The primary demand was for a Government Order for extending pension benefits to those who retired even after June 1, 1988.
