TN retired revenue officers association's demand

The association also wondered why the Government was not utilising the services of retired revenue officers. Earlier meetings had passed resolutions recommending their appointment as honorary magistrates and their inclusion in district-level committees to render quick and effective services. The other demands included 50 per cent concession in fare for travel in all State transport corporation buses and allowing the retired officials to function as revenue administration practitioners.
It also suggested decentralisation of powers among revenue officials so that public service could be quick. As in Andhra Pradesh, Deputy Tahsildars should be appointed as head of firkas with full control over revenue inspectors and village office staff.
