Mission To Ensure Crime-free Nights

City Police Commissioner C.K. Gandhirajan on Friday exhorted the police personnel to intensify the night patrols and work towards the mission of ensuring crime-free nights in Coimbatore city.The meeting was attended by the Deputy Commissioners of Police, M. Vijayalakshmi (Crime), S. Rajendiran (Law and Order), D. Krishnamoorthi (Headquarters), Assistant Commissioners of Police and Inspectors.

Speaking at the monthly review meeting for crime prevention and detection, Mr. Gandhirajan said that every day crime prevention night rounds should be supervised by an officer in the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police.Mr. Gandhirajan started the meeting through power-point presentation wherein the details of criminal cases reported, detected, recovered, pending cases, petitions relating to disputes and law and order maintenance were classified for every police station and sub-division.
He exhorted the police officials to ensure that all pending warrants were executed within a week and accused produced before the courts so as to ensure speedy judicial process. He instructed strengthening of check-posts with sub-inspectors and for conducting vehicle checks and lodge checks across the city on a sustained basis to curb movement of criminals and their activities.He held a presentation with the help of the Cyber Society experts on cyber crimes. He said that with increasing offences on mobile phones, e-mails and Internet, there was a pertinent need to equip the force with the investigation skills to tackle it.
