NCC cadet honoured

Pankaj Gaur (centre) is in the picture.P.K.Kaveri Thilakesh from 4 Tamil Nadu Battalion NCC, Coimbatore, will be honoured by Commodore U.N.Chitnavis, Deputy Director-General of NCC Directorate (Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Andaman & Nicobar) on March 11, for representing the State at the national-level shooting championship. He also participated in the 51st National Shooting Championship
Thilakesh (19), a student of NGM College, Pollachi, was the only one to represent the State at the All India GV Mavlankar Shooting Championship held in Agra in October 2007. He was trained in shooting by Commanding Officer 4 Tamil Nadu Battalion NCC, Lt.Col.Pankaj Gaur.He also participated in the 51st National Shooting Championship in Ahmedabad in December 2007.He was adjudged the most promising talent and was selected to participate in the selection trials for National Shooting Squad held recently at Guwahati.He had two gold and two silver medals at the State and national level competitions to his credit.
