A middle-aged woman was killed by a wild elephant near Karunya Nagar limits, on the outskirts of the city on Sunday night. T Ammini (45) belonging to Perumal Kovil Pathy was found dead in the bushes in the wee hours of Monday. Earlier on Sunday night, people belonging to the village had chased an elephant away. Police said the woman had been caught and hit on a tree and thrown into the bushes by the elephant.
