ABVP Appeal To Improve The Quality And Standards Of Education

The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has appealed to the Chief Minister and the School Education Minister to take expeditious measures for improving the quality and standards of education in Government schools on a par with the private schools. According to a release from R. Sivakumar, Coimbatore District Co-ordinator, a majority of parents admitted their wards to English medium schools even if they could not afford it.
Lot of people to believe that the standard of education in Government schools was not up to the mark

This had unfortunately led a lot of people to believe that the standard of education in Government schools was not up to the mark. The Government schools on the other hand strengthened this view with their poor infrastructure and inadequate teaching staff. This emerging trend could even lead to children from economically backward families being denied their right to education. Hence, it was paramount for the Government to ensure that all Government schools were given the basic infrastructure facilities.

In order to make the schools equal to the private schools, all the teacher vacancies should be filled. In addition, the Government should take steps to provide continuous in-service and refresher training to the teachers. Training was essential as it would help the teachers enhance and enrich their teaching skills. Mr.Sivakumar, however, thanked the Chief Minister and School Education Minister for having decided to upgrade every middle school into a high school (within every five km radius).
