Understanding the situation, Collector V. Palanikumar paid a visit to the stadium to check out the status. After taking a close look he found out that a portion (the D) of the synthetic track was left uninstalled. He then spoke with the district officials of the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu (SDAT) to get their views. He was told the State government was considering the situation and that the work would commence shortly.

The District Sports Officer, Thomas, also pointed out that besides the installation (the D), the SDAT was also looking at the minor repair works of the bays and whitewashing of the Stadium to give it a fresh and clean look. He later took a look at the other facilities available and assured the media that he would talk to the concerned officials and sort out all the problems.
