RTO Got Land For Test Track
After having battled for nearly eight years, the Transport Department has finally got land allocated for the laying of a testing track to conduct tests for those applying for issuance of a driving licence. In the absence of a testing track in the city, the authorities were hitherto conducting it on roadsides especially in GV Residency, Race Course, Sungam Bypass Road and in VOC Park.
The eight year long battle finally came to an end, with the Government allotting about 1.03 hectare i.e., 2.5 acres (10,300 sq mt area) for laying the track.
The land allocation was done through government order GO MS number 143 dated March 11, 2008. The land belonging to the Government by virtue of the Urban Land Ceiling and Regularisation measures is located at Karattumedu on Sathyamangalam Road.
