Today Talks For The Group Clash

The Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO), Coimbatore, will hold talks on Wednesday with the two groups that clashed here on Sunday. On Sunday the two-wheeler which M. Sivakumar was riding hit a two-wheeler of R. Manikandan at Thirumalayampalayam petrol bunk. The incident led to wordy duel that culminated into exchange of blows.

Sivakumar belonging to arundhadhiyar community was admitted to a hospital and he preferred a complaint with the police accusing Manikandan and his father (belonging to the Caste Hindus) of assaulting him and abusing him. The incident led to clash between the two groups. While one group picketed the K.G. Chavadi Police Station on Sunday night the other group picketed the Collector’s Bungalow at Race Course on Monday afternoon.

The police have so far arrested 46 persons. Police have been deployed under the supervision of the Superintendent of Police, Coimbatore, G. Karthikeyan, and the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Perur, K. Kumarasamy at the village.
