Education Plus 2008

The two-day education fair of The Hindu Education Plus at the Suguna Kalyana Mandapam will take off here on May 8 at 10.30 a.m. in the presence of Vice-Chancellors of the Bharathiar University, Anna University, Coimbatore, Karunya University, Avinashilingam University for Women and Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham.

An array of colleges offering attractive courses is in store for students looking for something different at the undergraduate level.


In addition to the many stalls that will showcase the speciality of the institutions, students will get to listen to experts drawn from various areas of spheres. Educationist Jayaprakash Gandhi will deliver a lecture at 11 a.m. A panel discussion on engineering and agriculture courses will be held from 3.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. Vice-Chancellor of Anna University, Coimbatore, will be the panel moderator and the panel will consist of specialists from universities and colleges who will speak on electronics and media technology, agriculture courses, core engineering, Information Technology and print technology.

May 9 will open with a motivational lecture at 10 a.m. by academician Jayanthasri Balakrishnan. A panel discussion on arts and science courses will be held from 3.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. Vice-Chancellor of Bharathiar University G. Thiruvasagam will be the panel moderator and the panellists will speak on civil services, physics and nanotechnology, economics with banking and insurance, tourism and travel management and retail management as some of the favoured courses.

There will also be short talks by the sponsors and co-sponsors from 12 p.m. to 3.30 p.m. The fair will be presented by Animaster, in association with Bannari Amman Institute of Technology. Anna University, Coimbatore, Park Group of Institutions and Hindusthan Group of Educational Institutions are the co-sponsors.
