Tractors For Town Panchayats
Rural Industries and Animal Husbandry Minister Pongalur N. Palanisamy on a tractor before handing over 14 tractors to town panchayats for Solid Waste Management Programme at the Collectorate on Friday. Tractors, mini truck and a tipper truck were handed over to the heads of 14 Town Panchayats for effective implementation of the Solid Waste Management programme. The Minister for Rural Industries and Animal Husbandry, Pongalur N. Palanisamy, handed over the keys of these vehicles to the elected heads of the local bodies in the presence of District Collector, V. Palanikumar. The Local Administration Minister, M.K. Stalin, had ordered for the purchase of these vehicles. Of the 24 tractors planned in the first phase, the authorities have purchased 12 tractors, one mini truck and a tipper lorry. The 14 vehicles meant for solid waste management to maintain public health were handed over to the elected heads of the Vedapatti, Kinathukkadavu, Othakkalmandapam, Pallapalayam, Irugur, Sircarsamakulam, Avanashi, Idigarai, Pooluvapatti, Chinnavedampatti, Kaniyur, Perur, No 4 Veerapandi and Vettaikaranpudur town panchayats.
