Collector Reviewed Tourism Promotion
Collector V. Palanikumar reviewed the progress of works relating to tourism promotion, at a meeting here, recently. The focus was on works being carried out with the 50 per cent funding sanctioned by the Tourism Department. The review included works being carried out at Rs. 60.42 lakh at Kovai Coutrallam, Rs. 75 lakh worth of works at Poondi Vellingiri Andavar Temple, at Rs. 8.45 lakh at Thirumurthy Hills, at Rs. 16 lakh at Sulur Boat House, and at Rs. 68.98 lakh for Mettuppalayam Vanabadrakaliamman Temple area development.
The review also focused on the environmental and tourism promotion related activities at Kovai Coutrallam at a cost of Rs. 36.90 lakh. The other works discussed at the meeting included the Rs.196.70 lakh worth of works being carried out in the Indira Gandhi Wildlife Sanctuary at Top Slip near Pollachi under sanction from Ministry of Environment and Forests and also the Rs. 79.35 lakh sanctioned to the Coimbatore Forest Division.
