11th Asian Conference At BU
The Bharathiar University-DRDO Centre for Life Sciences will host the 11th Asian Conference in Solid State Ionics that will begin on June 9 and go on till June 13. According to a release from convenor S. Selvasekarapandian, the conference will be inaugurated by A. Sivathanu Pillai, Chief Controller of Defence Research and Development Organisation, and Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of BrahMos Aerospace. Vice-Chancellor G. Thiruvasagam will preside over the inauguration.Solid State Ionics is an interdisciplinary science comprising physics, chemistry and materials science of ion transport phenomena in solids and properties resulting from ion mobility. Activity in the field is growing rapidly, not only as a pure science, but also in applied sciences. An increased number of scientists are engaged in research in the field and the relevant devices. The conference will provide a regional forum for scientists, engineers and technologists to discuss the latest developments and share knowledge in the discipline of solid state ionics. The conference is being held in India after 10 years.
