AU Planning Study Centre

Anna University, Coimbatore, is in the process of developing learning centres in all major towns in India and other countries. This is with the focus of making the students learn in a comfort zone, according to R.Radhakrishnan, Vice Chancellor of the university. In a release, he said the university which started distance education in 2007 was now offering 84 programmes, many of them unique. “It is the only university to offer 24 branches in MBA and 14 Advanced Diploma courses for diploma holders. It has benchmarked distance education with the avowed objective of making it on a par with campus education.”

He said that the university had laid certain parameters for ensuring quality. These programmes had been designed at international standards. Course materials were well known books adopted by leading business schools. The university was planning to have effective implementation of e-governance in all its activities. It was contemplating creation of online programmes from 2009.Examination management system that facilitated on-line examinations and on-line evaluation for all academic programmes was under evaluation.

According to the release, the third batch admission for the Distance Education mode MBA\MCA\PG Diploma\Advanced Diploma \diploma programmes of the university is now open. Spot admissions are also given in the university. The last date for submission of application is July 31, 2008.
