Conservancy Workers Medical Camp
Conservancy workers undergoing check-up at a health camp in the city on Sunday. The South Zone office of the Coimbatore Corporation conducted here on Sunday a medical camp for 521 conservancy workers of 18 wards in the zone. The camp was held in association with K.G. Hospital at the Government Arts College. Zone Chairman P. Pynthamil inaugurated the camp. Mayor R. Venkatachalam, Deputy Mayor N. Karthik, other zone heads were present.A press release from the zone office of the Corporation said 12 doctors and 24 paramedical staff screened the workers. The workers underwent echo cardiograph, electro cardiogram, blood and diabetes tests. The release said 71 workers were referred for treatment to the neurology wing in the hospital, 52 to the cardiology department and 42 women workers would undergo treatment for gynaecological problems.
