Don Bosco Distributed Notebooks
The Don Bosco Anbu Illam Social Service Society, as part of its efforts to encourage enrolment in schools and to prevent dropouts, recently distributed notebooks and uniforms to rural school students. The group of volunteers from Don Bosco visited rural areas such as Moongilmadaikuttai, Mugasimangalam, Anna Colony, Palapatty, Vedar Colony in Mettupalayam Vellalore Mullai Nagar, Chettipalayam Kalaingar Nagar, Sanjeevi Nagar and Kalaingar Nagar in Pannimadai, Amaravathinagar in Udumalpet, Kodanthur, and Thalinji, where students who were in need of these items were identified.
The Don Bosco Anbu Illam has also identified educationally backward pockets such as J. J. Nagar, Athupalam, Eachanari, Selvapuram, Gandhinagar, Thudiyalur, Anna Colony, Masakalipalayam, Thippanur, Telungupalayam Kalaingar Nagar, Ondipudur N.P.Itteri, and Arumugakoundanur, where school going children were provided with evening classes for improving their academic performance. Education aids were also distributed.
