NSSO Will Start 65th Round Of Collection

The National Sample survey Organisation (NSSO) will start its 65th round of collection of socio-economic data for the formulation of various economic policies by the Government. According to a release from P. Manickam, Joint Director of NSSO, the 65th round, starting on July 1, would cover subjects on domestic tourism, housing conditions and slums.



The objective of the survey is to assess household characteristics of travel, facilities availed of and expenditure in relation to tourism, the release said. The survey of housing condition would include collection of structural aspects of housing with basic amenities such as living space, availability of drinking water, sanitation, and lighting. The source of finances of families in the past year would also be included. In addition, information such as the number of rooms, floor type and area, ventilation, kitchen, type of wall and roof would also be gathered.The survey of slums would collect information on their present condition.
