Family Card Usage
The District Collector, V. Palanikumar has announced that Public Distribution System (PDS) family card holders should not be denied supply of commodities citing the non-utilisation of the family card for three months as a reason for invalidating it. The assistants and salespersons at the PDS outlets have already been sensitised on these instructions.
The PDS cardholders were also reminded that if there is no necessity, the card holders need not be forced to buy commodities for the sake of keeping their family cards validated. The card holders could exercise the option of using the card only when required.
