CCC Appeal To AU

The Coimbatore Consumer Cause has appealed to the Vice-Chancellor of Anna University, Chennai to take steps for the early publication of the arrear results in the interest of the students who had appeared for arrears examinations of the seventh semester. In a memorandum to the Vice-Chancellor D. Viswanathan, the Secretary of Coimbatore Consumer Cause, K. Kathirmathiyon, said that early publication of arrear results was important to students who had got placements.

The memorandum pointed out that the results of B.E. final semester examinations were published by the University on May 22. It enabled students to join their jobs immediately. Since most of the companies wanted the students to join in June, publication of results on time was helpful to the students, it stated. Students who had already secured placements but have arrear in the 7th semester examination were anxious to have the results at an early date to enable them to join their jobs.

Moreover, the TANCET results were published on June 6 and the Madras University wanted the students to submit application for MBA along with their marks within one week of publication of result i.e. on or before 13.06.08. Since the results of these students were not published , they cannot apply for these courses. They were thus deprived of their opportunities.

Many students who may get very good marks in the final semester examination faced difficulties due to arrear results. Hence, because of non-availability of results, these students will not be able to join jobs and those wanting to continue higher studies will lose their opportunities, it stated. Mr.Kathirmathiyon had also requested the Vice Chancellor of Madras University, and Chennai seeking extension of time for the submission of applications suitably.
