Singapore Education Programme At Residency
Singapore Education, along with the Association of Accredited Advisors on Overseas Education (AAAOE), will organise an awareness programme on education in Singapore on June 19 at Hotel The Residency. Dhvani Anumolu, Assistant Manager, Singapore Education, Singapore Tourism Board, told reporters here on Wednesday that the programme would include workshop, talks and presentations by representatives from the AAAOE as well as Singapore Education on various aspects of studying in Singapore. Parents and students could gain first-hand information on the institutions in Singapore and other vital details such as accommodation facilities, cost of living, educational expenses and placements.
A public seminar addressed by the Vice-Chancellor of Bharathiar University, G.Thiruvasagam, would also be organised. The Government of Singapore was taking initiatives in promoting the country as an education hub. It had also invited prominent universities to set up their international campuses in Singapore. Singapore universities had a large number of Indian students. Apart from conventional courses such as engineering, business management and information technology, students from India were also showing a great deal of interest in niche courses such as tourism and hospitality, and arts and design, Ms.Anumolu said. The public universities were offering grants to students from Singapore and outside for undergraduate courses.
