Power Holiday :
The Tamil Nadu Electricity Board has said that the weekly power holiday for industries in Coimbatore would be from 6 a.m. on Saturdays to 6 a.m. on Sundays. For areas under the Tirupur Electricity Distribution Circle, it would be from 6 a.m. on Sundays to 6 a.m. on Mondays. In a press release, the TNEB appealed to industries to use generators from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. every day to enable the board to meet the peak hour demand.
TNAU Convocation:
Governor Surjit Singh Barnala, Agriculture Minister Veerapandi S. Arumugham and Tata Group of Companies Chairman Ratan Tata will attend the 29th Convocation of the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University in the city on July 25. A press release from the university said the Governor would preside and the Minister would announce endo-wment prizes. The university would confer an honoris causa degree of Doctor of Science on Mr. Tata. Member of the Planning Commission Abhijit Sen would deliver the convocation address.
Workshop:
The Art of Living, Coimbatore Chapter, will organise a workshop for parents, “Know Your Child,” on July 26.
