Display Agricultural Loan Waiver Details - By Collector

The District Collector, V. Palanikumar has advised the bankers to display the details of the agricultural loan waiver scheme and the list of beneficiaries in all the branches of all the banks for the information of the beneficiaries.Presiding over the farmer’s grievance meeting, Mr.Palanikumar also assured the farmers that steps will be taken to remove all the bottlenecks and hitches in extending advances to the farmers through co-operative banks. The farmers asked for the extension of 90 per cent subsidy for drip/sprinkler irrigation as the South West monsoon had failed. The Collector said that a proposal in this regard will be sent to the Government for its consideration.

When the farmers expressed anxiety at the incidents of miscreants stealing transformer, wire, cable and transformer oil in Mettuppalayam and Sirumugai areas, Collector said that police department has been advised to initiate preventive remedial measures. Collector also announced that eight acres had been earmarked for starting a cold storage facility for vegetables at the Pongalur Regulated Market Committee premises.


He also assured the farmers that considering the falling prices of tomato, steps will be taken and a proposal will be sent to the Government for starting jam making unit in Kinathukkadavu area.Collector also gave away sericulture implements to four beneficiaries each costing Rs 30,000. The meeting was attended by Assistant Collector (Training), J. Chandrakumar, District Revenue Officer, S. Prabhakaran, Joint Director of Agriculture, Nandagopal, PA to Collector (Agriculture), P. Subramanian and others.
