Fund Handed Over
The Collector, V. Palanikumar, handed over cheques for Rs. 5 lakh each to Neyam Special School in Kuttaiyur near Mettuppalayam, Annai Theresa Special School in Udumalpet, Ashirwad Special School in R.S. Puram in the city at a grievance day programme held at the Collectorate on Monday. The funds were provided for construction of buildings for these schools from the Physically Handicapped Welfare Board funds. He also handed over notebooks and books to the students of the Sathya Government Home for Children. Loganathan, a welder from Nanjundapuram, provided funds for the books. The Collector appreciated Loganathan for the gesture. It is learnt that Loganathan used his spare time for cleaning toilets and earned Rs. 600 a month which was set aside as savings for helping the poor children with aids for education.
