Rally And Demonstration For Uninterrupted Power Supply
The Tamil Nadu Association of Cottage and Micro Enterprises plans to organise a rally and demonstration here on July 14 to demand uninterrupted power supply. Association president J. James has said in a release that this was decided at a meeting of the association held here on Monday. For the last nine months, industries in the State had been hit by frequent and unannounced power cuts. Several industries here were power intensive and were hit by the frequent disruptions in power supply every day.
Mr. James said the association had appealed to the government to step up electricity production in the State and ensure supply of quality power to the industries. However, with the power cuts continuing, the units were affected. The rally would be held from Gandhipuram to Tatabad and the members of the association would stage a demonstration in front of the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board office here.
