Red Ribbon Express On July 12 & 13
District Collector, V. Palanikumar on Friday reviewed the arrangements for the visit of AIDS Awareness train ‘Red Ribbon Express’ to Coimbatore on July 12 and 13. The train would be positioned at Coimbatore North Railway Junction for two days. The Red Ribbon Express would have six coaches. First three coaches would have an exhibition aimed at generating awareness on AIDS while the fourth coach would have a conference on HIV. The fifth coach would have a counselling cum treatment centre for HIV. The sixth coach would have a troupe of artiste who would be visiting 64 villages in two days for conducting awareness generation programmes. The objective is to generate awareness among the students, industrial workers, construction workers, Women’s Self Help Group members and public. The expo would be open from 9 a.m. to 7.00 p.m. on both the days.
