Science Olympiad Dates
Science Olympiad Foundation has announced that the first round of examinations under various categories for this year will be held in the schools of the participants. According to a release, National Cyber Olympiad will be held on September 4, National Science Olympiad on November 20 and National Maths Olympiad on December 18.
School students from classes II to XII can participate in these examinations. The top 500 students at thenational level from each class in each contest can win cash prizes, CDs and books.The Science Olympiad foundation, an NGO established by leading academicians, scientists and media personalities with the aim of popularising science among children, has been conducting the Olympiads to encourage children to learn and understand science. Through various events such as workshops, seminars, science camps, exhibitions and talent search contests, it aims to bring about in children a genuine interest in science.
According to the co-ordinator for the examinations, T.Kanchana, the examinations give the participants an opportunity to explore their interest in the subject. It also helps them in improving their academic performance. They can also fare better in other competitive examinations.
