Toppers Honoured
Swami Dayananda Saraswathi handing over a cheque to Plus Two toppers at a function held at Sankara College of Science and Commerce in the city. Sankara College of Science and Commerce has honoured Plus Two toppers of 51 schools in and around Coimbatore.
At the function, Swami Dayananda Saraswathi urged students to develop a prayerful attitude and imbibe qualities like hard work, enthusiasm, strength, bravery and intelligence for achieving success in life. “Life of each person is a gift to himself and to the planet. As a child, a person starts life as a consumer, as he depends on others for his needs. Later, as education challenges and tempers his mind, he learns to contribute to the society over and above his needs.
Our culture has always stressed on a person taking on the role of a contributor,” Saraswathi said.T.P. Ramachandran, Secretary of the college, said the awards were to motivate the students to achieve still greater heights. The toppers received Rs. 2,000 each and a certificate of merit. T.K. Pattabiraman, Correspondent, Sankara Educational Institutions, and P. Murugesan, Principal of the college, spoke.
