The last date for filing Income Tax returns for the salaried and other non-Corporate assesses (without the liability of Tax audit) is July 31. According to a release from Prema Malini Vasan, Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Coimbatore region, the Income Tax Department was making arrangements for receiving the returns of income from July 28 to 31. Special counters would be opened to facilitate easy filing of returns at all the Income Tax offices at Coimbatore, Erode, Tirupur, Udhagamandalam, and Pollachi.The department was also setting up help desks on the office premises to assist tax payers in filling up and filing of returns. The desks would function from July 28 to 31.The new return forms were being made available in the special counters that would be functioning in the income tax offices. The new forms could also be downloaded from http://www.incometaxindia.gov.in.the/ assesses should quote the correct address, PAN, bank account number, and MICR code in their returns in order to facilitate speedy processing.
