TNAU Extened The Date

The Directorate of Open and Distance Learning (ODL) of the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University has extended the last date for receipt of applications to August 10 from July 21. According to a release, the Directorate offers 20 certificate courses for farmers, entrepreneurs and self-help groups. It has also started PG degree in Environmental Management and Sugarcane Technology and a PG diploma in Food Biotechnology, Bioinformatics and Production and Quality Control in Medicinal Plants, in addition to a new MBA programme.

Certificate courses are offered in bee keeping, mushroom production, waste recycling and vermicomposting, sugarcane production technology, coconut cultivation technology, cotton cultivation technology, vegetable seed production, hybrid seed production in cotton and maize, wasteland development, repair and maintenance of farm equipment and machinery, preservation of fruits and vegetables, nursery techniques and propagation of horticultural plants, gardening and landscaping, modern irrigation management, bakery and confectionery products, medicinal plants, modern weed management, jatropha cultivation, flower cultivation, and sericulture.
