Chandamama Children’s Day Out
Chandamama Children’s Magazine will organise ‘Chandamama Children’s Day Out,’ fun-filled day long activities for children, on August 24 at the Codissia Trade Fair Complex in Coimbatore at 10 a.m.According to a release from Chandamama, starting with Chennai, the programme will be conducted in 16 cities across the country. The grand finale will be held in Mumbai.
Over one lakh children are expected to participate from all the cities. Children can take part in painting, clay modelling, poetry writing, story telling and English debate. A single-wicket cricket tournament will also be part of the programme. Its objective is to give an opportunity to children to have fun, participate in creative activities and win lots of prizes. In the last one year, there has been a concerted effort to revive Chandamama and restore the brand. A new management comprising people who have been brought up reading the magazine has been constituted.
Chandamama comics and Chandamama books have also been launched. One of the Chandamama books, commemorating 60 years of Chandamama, was launched by cine star Amitabh Bachchan in April. The magazine is currently available in several Indian languages such as Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi, Oriya, Assamese, Gujarati, Marathi, Bengali, Sanskrit. The management of the magazine is also looking at creating a community of parents, children, teachers and educationists. It is also planning to come out with coffee-table books.
