Coimbatore district has the highest fund allocation for the welfare of minority communities when compared to the other districts in Tamil Nadu, said chairman of the Tamil Nadu State Commission for Minorities, Vincent Chinnadurai here on Tuesday. The Commission held a sitting with representatives of minority communities and those running education institutions. He gave away cheques under the micro credit, individual loans and education loans to beneficiaries. The chairman said that Coimbatore district had reaped more benefits under various welfare schemes for minority communities. During the current year, Rs. 2.20 crore was set aside for various schemes in Coimbatore. Grievances of minority communities would be taken up with the authorities.
