Coimbatore Passport Office ????

Rural Industries and Animal Husbandry Minister Pongalur N. Palanisamy (left), Coimbatore District Collector V. Palanikumar (third right) and Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner V.K. Shanmugam (right) inspecting the newly-constructed passport office in Coimbatore on Monday. The Minister for Rural Industries and Animal Husbandry, Pongalur N Palanisamy, on Monday inspected the newly-constructed first floor of the Corporation Shopping Complex at Uppilipalayam on Avanashi Road where the Passport Office is going to be inaugurated on September 14.


Mr. Palanisamy along with the Collector, V. Palanikumar, and the Corporation Commissioner, V.K. Shanmugam, went around the premises and discussed the final touches to be given and the arrangements to be made for making the place more public-friendly. Mr. Palanisamy told reporters that the Union Minister for External Affairs, Pranab Mukherjee, and the Union Finance Minister, P. Chidambaram, would be taking part in the inauguration. The Rs. 1.5 crore building with 13,000 square feet was constructed by the Corporation. Later, the Minister visited the VOC Park for reviewing the arrangements being made for the function to be attended by the Local Administration Minister, M.K. Stalin, on August 27.



Mr. Stalin would hand over welfare assistance and financial assistance to as many as officers from the Competent Authority and Administration imparted training to police officers in West Zone on Monday25,895 beneficiaries worth Rs. 21 crore.The Minister would also give away Rs. 9.6 crore as revolving fund to 1,540 women Self-Help Groups besides inaugurating and commissioning 155 projects/schemes constructed at a cost of Rs. 26.23 crore and would lay foundation stone for 11 works to be executed at an outlay of Rs. 24.15 crore.
