MoU

Somnath Gosh, Chairman and Managing Director, NRDC (second left) and P. Tamil Nadu Agricultural University has authorised the National Research Development Corporation (NRDC), New Delhi, to license and commercially exploit the university’s specified inventions, processes and know-how, whether patentable or not.
A Memorandum of Understanding to this effect was signed at the university recently by Somnath Gosh, Chairman and Managing Director, NRDC, and P. Subbian, Director of Agri-Business Development, TNAU, in the presence of the university Registrar P. Santhana Krishnan.The MoU entails NRDC to give wide publicity to TNAU technologies and processes, and to generate necessary market data/profiles, pre-feasibility and feasibility project reports, etc., so as to promote their speedy and effective licensing and commercialisation.

Mr. Santhana Krishnan expressed the hope that the partnership would serve the interests of the farmers at the national level. Mr. Ghosh said the NRDC was established by the Union Government with the objective of promotion, development, licensing and commercial exploitation of indigenous technology. “Technical and engineering know-how and inventions generated by various laboratories and institutions in the country will be promoted and made commercially viable,” he added.
