7.5 Kg Silver Recovered
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime and Traffic) K. Thondiraj examining the silver anklets recovered by the Coimbatore City Police on Friday. The Coimbatore City Police recovered silver anklets weighing seven and a half kg on Friday. According to the police, Murugan who was earlier employed with Rajendran running an anklet manufacturing unit at Salem lured his previous employer to bring a batch of anklets to Podanur to sell. On arriving at Podanur railway station, Rajendran left 15 kg of silver anklets in charge of Murugan who gave the slip with the anklets. Investigations revealed that Murugan gave half of the stolen property to his relative Murugesan. City Police Commissioner, K.C. Mahali and Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) K. Thondiraj constituted the special police teams which were led by Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime-South), M. Annadurai.
Police nabbed Murugesan and recovered seven-and-a-half kg of silver anklet from his possession and a case has been registered against him under sections 411 and 414 of the Indian Penal Code. They are still searching for Murugan.
