Free Training Programme In Pig Farming

The Veterinary University Training and Research Centre here will offer a free training programme in pig farming on October 14 and 15. According to a release, the programme at the centre will benefit farmers and entrepreneurs involved in livestock farming. There is a large domestic and export demand for quality pork. The training will comprise lectures on selection of breeding stock, housing, breeding, feeding and disease management of pigs.


The centre that is a constituent unit of the Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Chennai, has been conducting various such programmes on different livestock. Those interested can contact the centre at Kalappati Pirivu, Saravanampatti P.O.; or call 0422-2669965, for details and registration.
