Change / Cancell Details Of Coimbatore Junction Railways
Due to major yard remodelling work to be undertaken at the Coimbatore Railway Junction, the Southern Railway – Salem Division has said that a number of trains will be terminated at Coimbatore North while some would skip Coimbatore Junction and will stop at Podanur Junction from November 25 to December 12.A release from the Southern Railway said that there would be no change in the origination and termination of the following trains at Coimbatore Junction; train number 2673/2674 (Chennai-Coimbatore-Chennai Cheran Express), train number 2675/2676 (Chennai-Coimbatore-Chennai Kovai Express), train no. 2680 (Coimbatore-Chennai Intercity Express) whereas train number 2679 (Chennai - Coimbatore Intercity Express will run between Chennai and Erode only on November 26, 29, December 2, 5, 8 and 11 and on other days it will reach Coimbatore Junction, train number 1013/1014 Lokmanya Tilak Terminus – Coimbatore train on either direction, train no. 6609/6610 Nagercoil-Coimbatore Express, train number 2083/2084 Mayiladuthurai-Coimbatore-Mayiladuthurai Jan Shatabdi Express, train number 2647/2648 Coimbatore – Nizamuddin Kongu Coimbatore Weekly Express, train no. 6614/6613 Coimbatore – Rajkot-Coimbatore weekly express, train number 383/384 Nagercoil-Coimbatore-Nagercoil Passenger and train number 656/655 Coimbatore – Mettupalayam – Coimbatore passenger. The following trains will terminate and originate from Coimbatore North instead of Coimbatore Junction: train no. 607/608 Erode-Coimbatore-Erode passenger, train no. 607A/608A Coimbatore - Erode specials up to November 29, train no. 2671/2672 i.e., Chennai-Coimbatore-Chennai Nilgiri Express (Coimbatore portion of train number 2671/2672 Chennai-Coimbatore-Mettuppalayam Nilgiri Express will terminate/originate at Coimbatore North from November 25 and December 12, i.e., the train leaving Chennai on November 24 till up to the train leaving Coimbatore on December 12), the coaches from and to Mettupalayam will be operated as per normal schedule.
Cancellation: Train number 2681 Chennai - Coimbatore weekly express will be fully cancelled on November 29, December 6 and 13. Train no. 2682, Coimbatore – Chennai weekly express will be cancelled on November 28, December 5 and 12. Train number 2679 Chennai-Coimbatore Intercity Express will be partially cancelled between Erode and Coimbatore on November 26, 29, December 2, 5, 8 and 11. Train no. 2970 Jaipur-Coimbatore will be partially cancelled between Erode and Coimbatore on November 27, December 4 and 11. Train no. 2969 Coimbatore – Jaipur Express will be partially cancelled between Coimbatore and Erode on November 28, December 5 and 12.
