Child Rights Project Prepared By X Std student
A project was prepared recently by a standard X student, A. Karthikeyan, of Bharathiya Vidya Bhavan on Child Rights campaigns for bridging the rural – urban divide among children and for promoting communication skills. According to Karthikeyan, interests of the child should be the primary concern of any nation which aims for sustainable human development. Children themselves need to be part of activities and programmes that aim to ensure their rights, says Karthikeyan.
He is a finalist of Horlicks Wizkids. His aim is to make all children aware of their rights. Through Shanti Ashram of Kovaipudur he has interacted with more than 250 rural children and through Social Awareness and Voluntary Education he found out the plight of the vulnerable children like rescued bonded labourers.
