Design A Stamp Contest
Department of Posts will organise a ‘Design a Stamp’ contest on November 14 for school students. A release from the department said the themes were ‘My Birthday Party’, ‘My Favourite Sport’ or ‘My Favourite Animal’ for students up to Class IV. For students in classes V to VIII, the topics were ‘Preservation of Environment’ or ‘Education for All’. For students in classes IX to XII, it was ‘Care for the Disabled and Old’ or ‘Avoid Child Labour’. The designs would be used for various philatelic products such as stamps, first day cover, brochures, maxim cards and presentation packs. The design could be in ink, water colour, oil colour or any other medium. Participants could use drawing paper, art paper or any other paper. The contest would be held at Mani Higher Secondary School at 10 a.m. Students should register at 9.30 a.m. and should have the permission of the school principal.
