Collector Reviews Refugee Camps
Tamil Nadu Rural Industries Minister Pongalur N Palanisamy and District Collector V Palanikumar on Sunday reviewed the functioning of Sri Lankan Tamils refugee camps in the district. According to official sources, the Minister visited the camp in Puluvampatti, where 295 refugee families were residing and enquired about their grievances.He also asked about educational background and employment opportunities to the refugees and their families. Later, both the minister and collector, along with top revenue department officials visited Mettupalayam camp. Responding to the request of the refugees, Palanisamy assurred that steps would be taken to provide necessary toilet facilities and repairs of houses, the sources said.
