Grammar Clinic At GRG

GRG Matriculation Higher Secondary School set up a ‘grammar clinic,’ exclusively for the teaching of English grammar. Aimed at students from classes I to VIII, the experiment was a huge success, said Principal R. Ravi. The children were eager to learn and they took a lot of interest in grasping the basic concepts of grammar, he added. This clinic comprised eight separate sections for the parts of speech. The idea behind the grammar clinic was to help students understand that learning grammar was not a difficult task. Charts, puzzles and working models that demonstrated the correct and incorrect usages of the parts of speech and common mistakes committed while writing and conversing in English were put up at the clinic. A noun garden, zoological park, aquarium, and puzzle corner were also displayed. Since the students enjoyed the experiment and they found learning grammar fun, the clinic might be made permanent soon, Mr. Ravi said.
