IIFT Entrance Exam

It is about one week when the most important and popular exam, CAT has over on Nov 16. This is the time now to think what next. On coming Sunday i.e. November 23, 2008, Delhi based Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), is holding its entrance exam known as IIFT. According to the official information shared by IIFT, "This year closer to 42,000 students have applied for IIFT exam."

While sharing the total seats for MBA (International Business) for Delhi and Kolkata campuses, IIFT said, "There are total 180 seats for our MBA program which are divided into 120 and 60 seat for Delhi and Kolkata campuses respectively." When asked how IIFT compares its entrance exam with other important exams like CAT, XAT, FMS and others, IIFT said, "Broadly the pattern of the exam would be same as other exams. The exam will test Verbal ability, Quantitative ability and Logical Reasoning and General awareness of students. In comparison to CAT, the paper will have the duration of two hours and number of questions might be different."

IIFT entrance exam will be conducted in 20 cities include Ahmedabad, Allahabad, Bangalore, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Coimbatore, Delhi, Dehradun, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Jamshedpur, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur and Visakhapatnam. The students will be selected on the basis of their performance in Written Test, Group Discussion, Interview and Essay Writing. Says IIFT, "Based on marks for written test, candidates will be called for Group Discussion and Interview to be held during January or February at Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow and Mumbai."

Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) was set up in 1963 by the Government of India. The institute offers MBA (International Business) for Delhi and Kolkata campuses. The MBA (International Business) is a foundational course for developing a competent cadre of business executives to meet the country’s growing requirements for training personnel in the field of international business management.
